Interviewing

In this series of projects students learn how to conduct interviews and be part of an interviewing team.  Students learn how to write interview questions and lead a successful interview.  They also learn how to create a basic interview set, with attention paid to audio quality and visual background.  Students take turns practicing additional roles on the interview team, such as b-roll photographer, note-taker and greeter.

Our interviewees are recruited from the local area, and have included migrant workers, farmers, historians, comedians, athletes, and elders in the community.  During the last class, students reflect on their experience and write a thank-you note to the interviewee.
